Proud sponsor of U14 Dimond & Boys & Girls Clubs - Alaska Football
The Goal with the Boys & Girls Clubs - Alaska Football program is to provide its Members a safe, healthy, fun, and meaningful experience via regularly scheduled practices and games. The thirteen-week season will commence on July 24 and conclude October 14, 2017 with the Alaska State Championship Series. U10-U14 practices are generally held Monday through Fridays evenings with games being held on Saturdays. Games will commence the third week of the season.
Teams will be made up of players from the same Anchorage School District high school zone (or a series of schools) within the same gender. There will be NO exceptions to this rule. (If there are not enough players to form at least four teams in a gender specific division, age divisions will be coed). Team names will be designated by high school zone which the team is located. However, players and coaches are encouraged to give their team nicknames which are cool and fun! (This program has no affiliation with the Anchorage School District or its individual schools)
Please Note: Beginning the 2017 BGCA Football Season, players will no longer be grandfathered onto a team outside of his/her high school zone that he/she played for the previous season(s) and he/she will be assigned to the team within his/her high school zone. If there are not enough Members to form a team or the roster is full in the particular high school area which the player is zoned for, he/she will be assigned to a roster a roster outside of his/her high school zone which is in the best interest of the league. Additionally, players are required to provide a current sports physical and will be required to provide a birth certificate and current report card/school ID verifying which school they are attending.

Player safety is our #1 priority at Boys & Girls Clubs - Alaska. Here are some of the things we are doing in regards towards prioritizing your child's safety:
All of our coaches (Head & Assistants) are USA Football - Heads Up certified which includes concussion awareness and prevention training.
We have a mandatory coaching clinic in which we emphasize the signs & symptoms of a possible concussion as well as Heads Up contact techniques and drills.
All players are equiped in NEW 5 Star rated Riddell Revolution Adult Speed helmets (Virgina Tech University Helmet Research: 5 Stars = Highest Rating)
We have a pre-season parent orientation; includes information and resources to maximize safety and protection of every player
We have a partnership with Orthopedic Physicians Anchorage in which they will help provide Certifed Athletic Trainers at all games.
Boys & Girls Clubs - Alaska will equip all players with a 5-Star Rated Helmet, shoulder pads and game jersey.
“Our kids have been a part of the BGC (Boys & Girls Clubs – Alaska) Football Program for the past 4 years and we look forward to being a part of the BGC Football Program for years to come! As a parent, there are a few things that are non-negotiable when it comes to sports and one of these is safety. BGC has exceeded in this by providing new helmets to all the players (5 star rated), making sure that the players meet weight guidelines, and even planned an evening to teach the teams about safety on the field and concussion prevention. The program is also well organized and the staff cares about the safety and welfare of each player. Being a part of this program has helped my kids tremendously. They've learned "work ethic" by attending practice every day and on time, and every person on the team comes ready to give 100%. They've also learned about responsibility, character, and sportsmanship. This extends further than the field; this will be applicable to life! We would recommend this program to anyone, whether it's your first year or if you've played before! It's more than a program; these kids become family!” ~Vanessa Makihele, BGC Parent
